Battleship Trailer (2012) HD 1080p by Filmsactu

So here we have a trailer for the new "Battleships - the Movie" er, movie. Yes, its based on the classic board game.. Which begs the question, if Hollywood are so desperate to have some kind, *any* kind of name recognition for their latest feature to help ticket sales thanks to familiarity - why not go the whole hog.

We fancy seeing "Tiddly Winks" the movie - starring 50 Cent, "Shove Piggy Shove" the movie starring Simon Pegg or how about "Think up an interesting original plot without having to reply on lazy recognisable ancient kids brands" the movie starring...

In 2004, Bond producer Barbara Broccoli saw the Matthew Vaughn directed Layer Cake and was impressed with a certain Daniel Craig's brooding performance as a drug dealer (especially in a scene where he is stalking around a flat, luger poised.) Two years later, of course - Daniel was cast as the playboy superspy - and it seems like history might repeat itself.. King maker Vaughn is bigging up a certain Michael Fassbender, cast as the young Magneto in the new 1960's set X-men: First Class as a potential next Bond - dressing him in tailored suits and nodding furiously in the film to the glorious Connery Bond period

So here at last is a teaser for the Spielberg/Peter Jackson helmed Tintin film. Now I balked a bit at the idea of it being Motion Captured, like many I find it to be frankly pretty weird. But this - looks class. The cast/crew list is stunning, frankly - and its good to see so many old muckers from Shaun of the Dead and Return of the King involved. Daniel Craig as the baddie is just the icing on the cake.

As a further aside - I designed a poster on holiday in 1991 (when I was 12)  featuring a Tintin movie directed by Spielberg - but produced by Cubby Broccoli and George Lucas! not far off!

...and here's the full trailer for the WETA CG'd "Rise of the Planet of the Apes"

WETA cameraman veteran Evan says - "it looks brilliant and the technology is becoming so good as to be unobtrusive, which is a good thing"

A first look at the wizards of WETAs featuring a teasingly small snippet of what could be Andy Serkis as Ceasar for the new "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" film.

It was a while ago when our Director Evan Pugh worked with WETA and filmed Andy Serkis on the Gollum sequences for Return of the King but it seems they continue to pay fantastic attention to detail.

Evan remembers Andy lying on his back across a broken office chair just to get the authenticity of falling into the depths of mount doom right, looks great in the finished film tho...
